Which tooth whitening treatments are most suitable for my smile?
A free consultation with Dr. Perrone at her Las Vegas dental office is the best way to determine which whitening technique is right for your smile.
After understanding your smile desires and a thorough examination, Dr. Perrone can explain whether in-office treatment, at-home whitening, or a different cosmetic dentistry procedure can meet your dental health and smile goals.
Whiter teeth can give you an instant self-confidence boost and the more carefree life you have been wanting.
Does teeth whitening work for all smiles?
Unfortunately, some patients have severe teeth discoloration that you cannot address with whitening alone. This stubborn discoloration can often occur with people who take medications that cause internal staining or received too much fluoride as a child.
Porcelain veneers may be the better choice for those smiles. Dr. Perrone can determine what the best alternative cosmetic dentistry treatment will be for your smile.
Why Whiten Your Smile?
As we get older, our teeth get stained, dull, and yellowed. This can be due to eating or drinking habits, but it also just comes with age. Marielaina Perrone DDS uses advanced whitening techniques to dissolve those stains giving you a smile you can be proud of!
What is Teeth Whitening?
Teeth whitening is a process using high-strength bleaching agents to break up staining and discoloration in the tooth enamel.
There are many different teeth whitening methods; however, the most efficient and effective ways are only available at your dentist's office.
Marielaina Perrone DDS offers state-of-the-art in-office teeth whitening treatments along with dentist-supervised take-home whitening kits. Both of these use higher strength teeth bleaching agents to help patients achieve the whiter smiles they desire.
How long will will my white teeth last?
Your newly whitened teeth can last about one year with proper daily dental hygiene, avoiding staining substances (coffee, tea, red wine), and regular professional teeth cleanings. Many patients elect to do occasional at-home follow-up whitening treatments to refresh their results and prevent the buildup of new stains. For patients interested in a white smile with less constant maintenance, porcelain veneers are a stain-resistant option that can maintain a whiter, brighter smile for decades.
Does the whitening teeth process hurt?
Patients describe the whitening process as a virtually painless process; however, teeth whitening can sometimes cause mild discomfort in the form of tooth sensitivity.
Dr. Perrone may recommend using sensitive teeth toothpaste before treatment to prevent sensitivity. Fluoride treatments can also help prevent tooth sensitivity during treatment.
In Office Teeth Whitening
This is the fastest and generally most effective Teeth Whitening option. This procedure is performed by the dentist using a special light and optimized teeth whitening gel. This type of teeth whitening can deliver fantastic results in as little as 30 minutes to one hour.
This technique utilizes a highly concentrated teeth whitening agent accelerated by heat and light to speed up the Teeth Whitening process.
