What to Expect with All-on-4® or All-on-6 Dental Implants

The same overall journey generally applies to All-on-6 treatment; the main difference is that six implants are used instead of four, with the number and position selected according to your anatomy, bone support, bite, and restorative plan.

How All-on-6 Fits Into This Timeline
The consultation, surgery, provisional restoration, healing, final-restoration, and maintenance stages are generally similar for All-on-4 and All-on-6 treatment. All-on-6 uses two additional implants, but six implants are not automatically better for every patient. The appropriate number and arrangement depend on available bone, anatomy, bite forces, restoration design, and the treating clinician’s plan.
Individual treatment varies. Immediate provisional teeth are available only when clinical criteria are met and adequate implant stability is achieved. Some patients require additional procedures or healing before receiving temporary or final teeth.
